Up till now I have been dying to buy Shu Uemura's professional make-up box but no luck. They're so rare and they cost RM1.5k! which is how much an entire collection would probably cost. Why is this so rare? well it's hand crafted by one of the artisans, dress-up with a premium silver color and the cute mon shu girl. A Christmas wish that I hope one day will come true. I was so in love with the Aya Takano make-up box!
Ever since I was a child, Lip Smackers has been on my mind.Thanks to American teen shows and girly magazines that I read. I would always asked my friends to get me one when they go overseas but thankfully now we can also get it in Malaysia! The Lip Smacker Strawberry Lip Balm is one of the classics of the lip smackers range. I love Lip Smackers is because of 3 things, taste, smell and packaging that caught my attention. For this particular review, I somehow felt the taste was barely present, it was more of a waxy-balm taste. The scent of the strawberry isn't that strong, also a let down point for me compare to my memories of how Lip Smackers are like. The packaging is still the all classic Lip Smackers bright colored fun words that still attracted my attention. Above all these, the lip balm works well as a lip moisturizer but I tend to reapply again after a few hours. I wish it was more flavorful.

The long awaited post on my latest hair coloring escapade! My fiance don't like me coloring my hair because it damages my hair but I just can't resist trying cute hair coloring products in the market. The latest was this milkshake looking bottle called Shake Shake by BeautyLabo. It's just sooooo cute!!! The come in cute chocolate flavored names as well like Peach Chocolate, Maple Chocolate, Milk Chocolate, Caramel Custard and so on! I bought Milky Beige, a dark brown tone from what I see on the product.

This is just child's play if you're asking me how easy it is coloring my hair. All I did was, without even looking at the instruction sheet *pls don't follow me, I'm just used to coloring my hair after SPM* mix the agent, shake it, and the bubble whip comes out. Apply evenly on hairs and after 30 minutes, wash it off. Being a product from Japan, there's English translated instructions inside so don't worry about not knowing what to do. Here's a step by step picture guide from me haha!!!

some say leave it longer than 30mins for brighter color
While I was mixing the chemicals, I couldn't help but smell it. Surprisingly it didn't smell like some ammonia bomb but it smelt sweet instead! (maybe it's just this bottle?) but when I applied it on my hair, I could smell the ammonia already. It wasn't overly strong until my eyes teared up (just like when I use Liese Bubble Hair Dye, very strong ammonia for Malaysia's batch but not for Singapore's batch!). I was just covering my hair and massaging it, not being very fussy trying to cover all my hairs as I wanted it to be natural or have some kinda highlight effect. After 30mins I wash my hair and could feel my hair stripped of it's natural silkiness. It's very dry so I had to conditioned my hair with the leave in treatment.
The product says it covers evenly, I think it does cover evenly (better than Liese Bubble Hair Dye) however with DIY hair coloring at home, evenly is really a subjective word. I did it "cincai" (simply do only) and I still manage to cover my hair evenly, though my top is slightly brighter (due to heat from scalp). The color Milky Beige turned out somewhat as shown on the box (only in daylight) - a milky chocolate brown color. Thanks to my black hair, you'll see dark brown during normal days if I'm not under the sunlight. Also another expected outcome as black hair eats colors.

I just love the crispy skin and bones on the ayam penyet. Using free range chicken, it's marinated and fried then served with white rice, kangkung, tempe, raw cabbage and cucumber. The meat is moist and tender, paired with the lovely spicy sambal and rice which I say brings me to a spicy heaven. I love spicy food so this just makes my day. The bones are not as smashed, but yes u can still crunch it down.

OMG the iga penyet is no.1 I tell you! one should not leave this place without trying their best seller the iga penyet. What is it? it's beef ribs, moist, succulent, you can peel it off the bones and start chewing on the meat in your mouth. Slowly enjoying the meat-soft-juicy-fat sensation. All dishes comes with the usual sides of veggies and tempe!

Udang penyet, while it may need you to peel off the skins. The prawns are big, juicy and fresh. I'm kinda particular with seafood, so this is a thumbs up. However one must get down and dirty with the udang, and I say forget using your spoons and forks. Just dig in!

Honestly I wouldn't go by without ordering the sup ekor lembu (beef ribs soup). The broth is not overpowering or peppery like in some stalls, just perfect for pairing with the ayam penyet. Eaten with the rice, gives you a hearty meal experience. If you're looking for a more affordable alternative, try one of the soto soups available! chicken/beef (RM5.90) or vegetarian (RM4.90).

Each pair has a different meaning and feel, and I wanted it all to be special. Especially my first pair, I pimped it like nobody's business! haha. Let me tell you what I did on Saturday morning, while everyone else was sleeping I woke up, wore the new grey top I bought from Flow, put on my jeans and head right out to hunt for a taxi. Why so energetic? well it's because I wanted to learn how to bake cupcakes from Celcom's Cupcake Challenge Baking Workshop at The Cooking House,Desa Sri Hartamas. It was my second time there (first time was making mango tarts with Garnier). I'm so happy my galpals Jean & Fatin will be there too. I wonder if we broke some kind of Guiness record for being the most bloggers learning to bake "1 Malaysia" cupcakes that day?

While we needed to design and bake our own creative interpretation of national pride, in which a sample was given to us to follow. Jean and I (team) decided to stray off the norm and create our own patriotic pride cupcakes. We made the cupcakes to form a heart shape, and decided to go flower power on the red and white stripes of the flag. Our moon and stars would be centralized hub for it. How's that for creative? *lol*. Please give us some comments! we didn't win the challenge though *sad*. The prize was a coffee table book on chocolate recipes.
Now off to show you how it's done! in a matter of few hours, we manage to work up a sweat, build our bicep muscles and also gain weight (because we kept eating the cupcake dough and icing which was sinfully delicious! yum). The recipe is available here, in quick easy steps. For a more comprehensive guide, you can always google cupcake recipes out to make your own :) hope you enjoy the pics I put together for this demonstration!

How to make Vanilla Cupcakes?
Ingredients:
110g Plain Butter
1 1/2 teaspoon Baking Powder
125g Butter
100g Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
2 tbs Milk
Sieve the floor with baking powder.
Cream the butter & sugar until white & fluffy.
Beat in eggs and fold in flour carefully.
Fill paper cups until 2/3 full.
Bake at 180C for about 13minutes.
How to make Butterscotch Icing?
Ingredients:
95g Salted Butter
260g Icing Sugar, sifted
1 1/2 tbs Milk
Beat butter until creamy, scrape bowl.
Add sifted icing sugar, milk and beat until combined.
Add more powdered sugar as needed to get pipping consistency. Add a drop of food coloring if desire.

Overall, judging from the photographs of me and my friends, you'd say we had a great day right? Yeap you're right! we had a fabulous time baking and designing our own cupcakes! I didn't think it would be this simple and I am sooooo going to make my own cupcakes at home and try to enter this challenge and be one of the top 55 entries chosen for a bake-off and stand a chance to walk away with the Grand Prize of RM10,000 Cash, a Samsung GALAXY S III, LG PRADA phone and other prizes worth more than RM100,000 in total. Proud to be one of the spectators of the short "limited edition" season of Superstars of Magic 2 (yes it's the second installment featuring 8 specially handpicked magicians by David Lai, director and producer of the show). Sound familiar? Yes! we have a happy family here! They're the sons of the most famous Quick Change artist in the world! I'll leave you to guess which brothers gave an act of sweet angelic movements while the other is hot sexy red opposite.

My verdict on the Dettol Natural Body Wash? I tried both variants over a week. The difference between Nourishing and Soothing are the scent and the after shower skin feel. Dettol Nourishing has a stronger scent than Soothing, leaves your skin moisturized after wash and protects from dryness after. Dettol Soothing was a perk me up kinda shower experience thanks to its refreshing scent and clean after wash feel. My favorite on a hot sunny day is Dettol Soothing to keep me fresh and happy. When I need to shower before sleep, I'll use Dettol Nourishing to protect my skin from air-conditioning.
Both smells great but the scent lingers off after shower. They lather up easily (check out the shower demo photos from my "heng tais" who helped me try Dettol Natural for my review). The liquid is transparent, I thought it would be in green or yellow. They do not become milky like Dettol's classic body wash.
